Silver Nova

Timelapse is a site-specific ceramic installation commissioned for Silver Nova, Silversea's flagship cruise vessel. Inspired by the ever-changing patterns, colours and movement of the ocean, the artwork unfolds across two passenger decks, creating a quiet visual rhythm throughout the ship's interior.
The design for Timelapse began with the observation of the sea's constantly shifting surface. Changes in light, tide and movement were translated into a composition of individually handcrafted ceramic forms, each varying subtly in scale, depth and colour.
Through sketches, digital layouts, material studies and ceramic prototypes, the composition evolved into an installation that conveys rhythm rather than repetition. Each element was positioned to create a continuous visual flow across the architectural space while maintaining a calm, understated presence.
The composition was developed specifically for the proportions of the corridor wall. Digital studies allowed multiple iterations of scale, spacing and visual rhythm before production began, ensuring the installation integrated naturally with the surrounding architecture.
This installation forms part of the Terra Collection, a series of sculptural ceramic works inspired by natural forms, soft geometry and architectural composition.
