Rotana

Rotana Abu Dhabi is a site-specific porcelain installation developed for a hospitality interior in Abu Dhabi. Positioned within the reception area, the work introduces a quiet sculptural presence through light, shadow and handcrafted ceramic form.

The installation was developed through studies of rhythm, density and surface. Individually formed porcelain elements create subtle variation across the wall, allowing the composition to respond to the surrounding architecture without overwhelming the interior.

Digital studies were used to refine the scale, spacing and movement of the composition before production. The final arrangement was developed to sit naturally within the proportions of the reception wall.

A complementary porcelain mirror was also developed for the same interior. The circular composition extends the project's material language while creating a distinct focal point within the circulation space.

The mirror concept explored the relationship between reflection, ornament and architecture. Porcelain forms were arranged around the circular surface to soften the boundary between functional object and sculptural installation.
