Legend Of The Seas

Legend of the Seas is a site-specific porcelain installation developed for Royal Caribbean's cruise vessel. The project explores movement, light and reflection through sculptural ceramic forms arranged as a continuous architectural composition.

The design began with studies of flowing forms, soft movement and metallic accents. White porcelain and gold lustre elements were developed to create contrast between quiet sculptural surfaces and reflective highlights.

Early studies explored how individual ceramic forms could work together as a larger visual rhythm. The composition was refined through repeated variations of scale, spacing and direction.

Digital layout studies allowed the installation to be developed across the full architectural span. Each element was positioned to create movement across the wall while maintaining balance within the surrounding interior.

The final composition was developed as a modular ceramic field, designed to respond to the proportions of the space and the visual flow of the cruise environment.

Material studies focused on the relationship between satin porcelain surfaces and reflective gold details. The contrast between matte and lustred finishes creates depth, shadow and changing highlights as viewers move through the space.
