Andrzej Skrzypkowski is a multidisciplinary artist based in the UK who works in sculpture, drawing, and spatial design. He earned his Master of Arts in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland, focusing on how sculpture and architecture connect, and how form and space interact in public settings. He has also worked with Dutch artists in Amsterdam, gaining valuable experience with materials, form, and how people engage with space.
He spent four years traveling in Latin America and the Caribbean, where he explored underwater landscapes through open-water and cave free-diving in Mexico and Grand Cayman. These experiences deeply shaped how he sees light, color, and atmosphere, and they continue to inspire the thoughtful and refined nature of his work.
His practice celebrates life’s beauty and offers a quiet refuge from everyday worries. Through abstract shapes and flowing forms, he invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect — both with the world around them and with themselves.
Andrzej’s work highlights the interplay between sculpture and architectural and public spaces. He carefully considers context, environment, and social or historical surroundings, combining conceptual exploration with technical execution — from model-making to visualizing and realizing projects in real-world settings.
His recent sculptural work explores emotional and physical balance through form — moving between weight and openness, tension and stillness. These are quiet experiences shaped through attentive hands: simple, honest expressions of presence and transformation.
Together, Monika and Andrew combine their creative visions at Maap Studio to develop sculptural pieces that engage with their environment transforming private and public spaces with works that invite both presence and contemplation.
